A magnificent design sourced from the Zoffany archive which features a rising sunflower and ornate acanthus leaves. The original paper dates to the mid 18th century between 1735-50 and is coloured with dark green damask on a darker green ground. The design can be traced to a brilliant red silk which was specially woven for the Sun King Louis XIV of France and was used within the Palace of Versailles.
